Superman Returns is a modern version of the Superhero movie based on the popular comic character Superman. Although the storyline of Superman Returns deviates from the main storyline, Superman Returns left a huge impact in almost all the major box offices around the world.
Technical Aspects of Superman Returns
Bryan Singer, the director of Superman Returns chose Brandon Routh for the role of Superman. Jon Peters, Gil Adler and Bryan Singer were in charge of the production of the film beginning from marketing to release of the prints for the movie, a whole lot of work was undertaken by this team. When compared to the old version of Superman, Superman Returns is undoubtedly brighter. The hues are more prominent and brisk movements of the super hero are faster in the modern adaptation.
In order to create the modern conditions for Superman Returns, John Ottman opted for a music that would blend the best of the past and the present. The expeditions and rescue operations undertaken by Superman always had pulsating music scores attached to them. On the other hand, pensive moments and romantic moments between Superman and his lady love carried a soothing background composition.

Special effects used in Superman Returns include intelligent and patient use of computer technology. The original print of Superman the movie was used as a reference for shooting Superman Returns. Animation and graphics recreated the performance put up by Marlon Brando. Cyber scan and scanning have been extensively used for creating the various special effects in the movie. Most of these computer generated shots were taken up in the Rhythm and Hues Studio.

The story of Superman Returns is based on a rough storyline as sketched by Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris. At the beginning of the movie we learn that Super man, has been missing for five long years. Although astronomers are of the opinion that Superman has returned to Krypton planet, Superman Returns to his ancient homeland on earth.

During his absence, much has changed. Lois is married and Lex Luthor has been released from the prison. Lex's evil plans of destroying a Boeing plane boarded by Lois, meet an unsuccessful end as Superman comes to the rescue of Lois. Kitty is a partner in crime with Lex Luthor. As she distracts Superman, Lex is almost ready with his evil designs. But good forces finally win and Superman emerges victorious, after a bloody battle with Lex!
