Spider- Man

Spider- Man is among the most hyped fictional superhero movies in Hollywood. This character was created by Stan Lee and the person who gave a concrete shape to it, is the talented artist Steve Ditko. What attracted people was the character portrayal of Spider- Man. He is a lonely teenager who has been rejected by society. He is yearning for a respectable identity. This problem can be identified with any teenager in any part of the world. We all feel lonely and a bit rejected in our adolescent and so, we can really identify with Peter Parker.

Spider- Man was released in 2002 and the screenplay was based on the character portrayed in the Marvel Comic series. The character of Spider- Man was acted by Tobey Maguire and he was supported by Kristen Dunst and William Dafoe. Sam Raimi, the director must be credited for the successful presentation of this superhero character. Apart from the acting and excellent screenplay by David Koepp and Alvin Sargent, the music of the movie attracted quite a huge number of people to the movie halls. Danny Elfman was the music director. The story line is pretty interesting and we all love to see an ordinary man getting transformed to a super hero simply because, we all pine for extra power. Mary Jane Watson was the love interest of Peter Parker. Peter Parker ultimately evolves as a man with emotions and human qualities but is a bit different from us. The movie begins with the note that he is a rejected soul but it ends with the victory of that soul.

The success of the movie led to the production of the trilogy Spider- Man, Spider- Man 2 and Spider- Man 3. While discussing Spider- Man, one cannot miss out the impact of the advanced visual effects on the audiences. John Dykstra was hired for special visual effects in the movie. The stunts were computer generated and shots were taken separately to avoid complications. One character might get erased during the shooting as the stunts were artificially done. In order to avoid all these possibilities, Spider- Man was shot with a green screen at his back while Green Goblin was provided a bluescreen.

The movie earned lots of positive reviews and international appreciation. Spider- Man was also nominated for the “Best Visual Effect” and “Best Sound” categories in Academy Awards. The movie also got the People's Choice Award. It is worth watching especially for those craving for imaginations and creativity in toady's movies.
