Titanic is one of the best romantic movies of all time. Based on the tragic incident of sinking of a giant ship Titanic, this American movie or romantic drama was released in the year 1997 and it won 11 Academy Awards in several sections. Titanic turned out to be a huge grosser not only in the US but all over the world. If you love to watch romantic movies then Titanic is certainly a movie that you should not miss out on.
One of the biggest reason for the tremendous success of Titanic as a film was the sweet romantic story that it is based on. Though sinking of the giant ship is the highlight of the film, the affair between Rose Calvert (portrayed by Kate Winslett) and Jack Dawson (portrayed by Leonardo DiCaprio) has turned it into a romantic drama. Titanic, the movie starts with Brock Lovett, a treasure hunter who was exploring the wreck of Titanic to get hold of a blue diamond named Heart of the Ocean. While exploring the wrecks, Lovett discovers a painting of a nude woman wearing the diamond necklace.
A woman named Rose Dawson Calvert informs Lovett that she is the owner of the necklace and joins Lovett in his ship to disclose the story. Lovett shares her sweet memories with a guy named Jack Dawson whom she met on the maiden voyage of Titanic way back in the year 1912. The film shows how Rose who was traveling with her mother and her fiancée Caledon Hockley met Jack Dawson, a poor painter.
Rose does not find the love and care she was expecting from her fiancée and feels frustrated. She tries to commit suicide by jumping from the ship but thanks to the intervention by Jack she is prevented. After meeting Jack, Rose finds a new meaning of life and enjoys her time with the completely unknown person.

Rose and Jack stand on the top of the ship's stern spreading their hands which is one of the most memorable and talked about romantic scenes of the movie. The relation between Rose and Jack deepens and Rose decides to give her heart to Jack. Rose even agrees to give a nude pose for a charcoal painting to be made by Jack.
The end of Titanic is very tragic as far as a romantic film is considered because at the end of the film Jack fails to survive in the freezing water of the Atlantic Ocean and Rose decides to escape from Caledon Hockley. The movie ends with Rose Calvert, who now calls herself as Rose Dawson Calvert, a 100 year old lady throwing the Heart of the Ocean to the sea.
