Directed by Peter Jackson, the 2005 edition of King Kong is actually a remake of the 1933 released movie in the same name. Based in the city of New York, the film takes us back to the era of Great Depression in America in the year 1933, and is all about the deeds of the central character of the movie. Plot synopsis of King Kong: Set in the dismal era of depression of 1933, New York city, the film commences with the troubled life of Ann Darrow, who is a vaudeville actress. Having lost her job, Darrow signs another offer from Jack Driscoll, who also happens to be her favorite. Here in the course, she falls in love with Carl Denham, who is the filmmaker. There is a series of events, which leaves Carl, Ann and the entire film crew in jeopardy. Stranded in a vicious island, they meet unfortunate events, and Ann is kidnapped by a 25 feet gorilla, who is none other than Kong. The crew fails to rescue and find her, while there are violent confrontations between her and the wild beast.

| In the second half of the spine chilling film, we see King Kong with Ann on top of the Empire State Building, a symbol of New York's capitalistic prowess. There are several joint human efforts, which succeed in bringing Kong under subjugation. During Christmas, Kong becomes a major attraction for the city dwellers, and also the supposed eight wonder of the world. Finally however, the huge beast is killed. As the audience witnesses this huge corpse, tears are bound to come to their eyes, and we ultimately realize, that humans are the more heinous savages.
