Jurassic Park III, the sequel to the The Lost World, is the third film in the
Jurassic Park series. However this is the first film of the series, which is not
directed by Steven Spielberg and is not based on the book of the same name written
by Michael Crichton. Steven Spielberg agreed to direct The Lost World, the sequel to
his film Jurassic Park on Joe Johnston’s request. Johnston on the other hand
directed Jurassic Park III, the second sequel of the series.
Plot of Jurassic Park III
Jurassic Park III has the same leading characters as that of the first two Jurassic
Park films. In this film Ellie Sattler and Alan Grant are involved with their
paleontological researches individually. Ellie, who is now married has two children.
Grant on the other hand was requested by Amanda and Paul Kirby to guide them on
their visit to Isla Sorna. Grant though hesitant initially, decided to act as their
guide.
As their plane landed, Grant felt something wrong. Amanda tried to call somebody
with the help of a megaphone but invited a Spinosaurus instead. They tried to escape
from the clutches of the dinosaur, but the two mercenaries died in their attempts.
In the meantime Grant discovered that the couple on whose request he decided to join
the group were inclined to find out their son, Eric who had accidentally landed on
this island during paragliding. In course of the events Grants found out the eggs of
Velociraptor.
The party encountered a Velociraptor during their exploration of the desolate Ingen
island. Grant became isolated and was rescued by young Eric, son of Kirbys.
Eric had
been dwelling on this lonely island for about 8 weeks and living on the food left
inside a truck. Eric and Grant united with the Kirbys and the group encounters
another Spinosaurus attack. Grant in the meantime discovered that the first attack
was the consequence of Billy’s stealing of two eggs of Velociraptor.
The party undergoes several encounter with the prehiostoric creatures but manages to
survive. Before leaving the island on a boat, they met raptors, who were bent on
recovering their eggs.

The group returns the eggs and finally leaves the island by a
helicopter.
