Plot of Bram Stoker’s Dracula:
Bram Stoker’s Dracula begins in a prologue where Vlad III, the Impaler, defeats a Turkish army in 1462. He returns home to find that his beloved wife, Elisabeta, has committed suicide. Elisabeta took such a step because she heard a false report which claims that his husband has died in the battle. Count Dracula was enraged to know that her wife has been eternally damned. He then denounced God and declares to rise from the grave to avenge the death of his wife.
After that four centuries passed. Jonathon Harker, a real estate agent travels to Transylvania. He goes to arrange the transfer of Carfax Abbey in London. At the castle, Harker meets Dracula who is now an old man. During the final signing of the real estate papers, Dracula notices a picture of Harker’s fiancée, Mina. She has striking resemblance with Elisabeta. Dracula promptly leaves for England and Harker is held captive in the castle.
Dracula has, by then, transformed himself into a young and handsome prince. He gradually charms Mina and helps her to recollect memories of her past life. The two fall in love, but in the meantime, Harker manages to escape and writes to Mina. She is overjoyed to marry him. The newly wed couple along with Van Helsing, Seward, Morris and Arthur begins to search for Dracula. They arrive at the Carfax Abbey, where Dracula confesses to Mina that he is dead and has also murdered her best friend. Even though Mina is enraged, she is still in love with him and wishes to be with Dracula.
In the end, Dracula is killed by Harker. Count Dracula is stabbed and in the last scene, he asks Mina to give him peace. They share an intimate kiss and Mina ultimately executes him.

The main characters of the film are played by Gary Oldman, Winona Ryder and Keanu Reeves. Gary Oldman played the role of Count Dracula. Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder played Jonathan Harker and Mina respectively. The supporting casts include Anthony Hopkins, Richard E. Grant and Cary Elwes.

Bram Stroke’s Dracula became a major hit world wide. It was also appreciated by the critics. The film had won three Academy Awards for Best Sound Effects Editing (Tom C. McCarthy, David E. Stone), Best Costume Design (Eiko Ishioka) and Best Makeup (Greg Cannom, Michèle Burke, Matthew W. Mungle).
