Aliens is a science fiction action thriller film, which is a sequel to the original 1979 Alien directed by Ridley Scott. The film Aliens was written and directed by James Cameron. The co-writers of the film include David Giler and Walter Hill. Aliens is set 57 years following the events of the original film and is considered a benchmark for science fiction and action genre. The film is a fast-paced action and adventure movie that is in total contrast to the gripping Sci-Fi horror of the first Alien. The cinematography of Aliens was done by Adrian Biddle. The film was released on 18th July 1986, and distributed by 20th Century Fox.

The main star cast of Aliens include Sigourney Weaver, Lance Henriksen, Michael Biehn, Carrie Henn, Paul Reiser and Bill Paxton. Sigourney Weaver is the only star from the original Alien who features again in the sequel. In Aliens, the character Ellen Ripley played by Sigourney Weaver returns to the planet where she had first came upon the hostile Alien ‘xenomorph’. In the sequel, Ellen Ripley returns to the planet together with a unit of Colonial Marine. The other characters in Aliens include Carter Burke, Corporal Dwayne Hicks, Bishop, Newt, Lt. In Aliens, Paul Reiser plays the role of Carter Burke who is a corporate lawyer of the Weyland-Yutani Corporation. Michael Biehn plays the character of Corporal Dwayne Hicks, who is Colonial Marines Second Squad Leader. Lance Henriksen is portrayed as the Bishop who is the android Executive Officer of the Marine ship-Sulaco.
Carrie Henn Newt is a child and the sole survivor of the colony on LV-426 and this character is played by Carrie Henn. Likewise there are other characters who play important roles in Aliens.
Plot Summary of Aliens
Ripley, the sole survivor in the Nostromo, is discovered half a century later in deep sleep, by a rescue ship. Once she is rescued and taken back to Earth, she finds out that a human colony was established on the same planet where the aliens were originally encountered. Once any contact with the colony is lost, Ripley is sent back to the planet along with a team of warriors who are determined to destroy the alien menace one and for all, and save any survivors
