The League of Extraordinary Gentleman is an adventure movie set in the 19th Century. Although adapted from the popular comic strip of limited series, the film adaptation is not even close to the comics. Dan Laustsen was in charge of the cinematography of the film. Beginning from the hunting scenes in Kenya to the appearance of the invisible thief Rodney Skinner, Laustsen finished the project with a high degree of finesse. Detailing of every scene had been attended to with great elegance, in order to create a movie par excellence.
Paul Rubell, the editor of movie has brought together some of the most well constructed scenes. Redundant scenes have been done away with. Plot of The League of Extraordinary Gentleman
The film begins in a gentleman's club in Kenya. Earthy settings and a tropical atmosphere introduce some interesting features about the characters. Away from his British home, Allan Quatermain has lost all the patriotic love for his English homeland. In the next few minutes a killing takes place and the story begins to unfold before the spectators in full bloom.
Soon after, Quatermain returns to London and meets a mysterious M. Together they decide to form The League of Extraordinary Gentleman, in order to fight against the Fantom present in the colonies. The colonial backdrop of the plot holds within itself various post colonial readings! As the plot unfolds itself new characters like Captain Nemo, Rodney Skinner and Mrs. Mina Harker are introduced.

By the time the movie ends, we are back in Africa, to bury the dead body of Quatermain. Pagan rituals and chanting follow the act of burial and the movie ends on a pensive note.
