In order to create the live movements of the dementors, Cuaron hired Basil Twist. Puppet shows were arranged in order to conceive the movements of the dementors. Plot of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
The movie opens with Harry performing an illegitimate act of witchcraft amidst muggles. Scared of his crime, Harry runs away. The rule at Hogwarts school of Witchcraft was that no witch or wizard should perform his tricks in front of the muggles or the non magic people. A Knight bus comes to his rescue and Harry arrives at the Leaky cauldron. A series of events tell Harry that Sirius Black who was imprisoned in the Azkaban Jail has run away. Ron's father also tells him that Sirius is most likely to come to Harry.

On his way to Hogwarts, Harry and his friends meet the new teacher for Dark arts. The Hogwarts suddenly stops and a dementor boards the train in search of Sirius Black. The Dementor scares Harry to such an extent that he faints. Later the dementors also attack Harry during the Quidditch Match. Harry is taught some special tricks against the Dementors by Professor Lupin. Later on he also acquires the Marauder's Map from Fred and George. With the help of his friends Harry ultimately comes out of the evil effects of the dementors. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban conclude with Harry receiving a super fast Quidditch broom as a present from Sirius.
