The Hollywood comedy Mrs. Doubtfire is one of the best entertainment movies of the year 1993 which won the Academy Award for that year. This comedy movie of Hollywood is actually based on the novel by Anne Fine named Alias Madame Doubtfire. This Hollywood movie was directed by Chris Columbus.
The story in the movie is based in San Francisco where Robin Williams playing Daniel Hillard alias Mrs. Doubtfire is a voice actor who is jobless. He is divorced with his wife Miranda who is professionally more successful than he is an interior decorator. Their marriage was literally on the rocks not only due to Daniel's professional failure but also due to his acts of irresponsibility in the marriage.
Miranda, being the earning member in the family, gets the custody of their kids and Daniel is allowed to have limited visits to the kids on specific days. Daniel is mentally shattered as despite his professional failures and irresponsibilities in marriage, he loves his kids madly.
Daniel gets the opportunity to spend the time of his life with them when Miranda places an advertisement for a housekeeper. He changes the phone number in the advertisement so that he's the only person to apply for the job. He presents himself as the perfect applicant after pretending a number of times as unsuitable applicants. He disguises his identity by taking the name of Mrs Euphegenia Doubtfire and gets the job of the housekeeper.
Being the father of the kids Lydia, Chris and Natalie, Daniel finds an easy way to their hearts and is able to spend more time with them.

He now portrayed the father figure which was missing in his relation with his kids before divorce. In his process of being the housekeeper and the perfect father figure, Daniel goes through a series of mis happenings and in the mid of it all Miranda has a new boyfriend who demeans Daniel as an imperfect father for the kids.
Kids, on knowing Daniel's identity, are overjoyed to have their father back. Luckily for Daniel, he gets recognized by the CEO of the television studio where he works as a shipping clerk and this lands him a job with the television studio. Miranda invites Mrs. Doubtfire for dinner with the family and her new boyfriend in the same restaurant where he's supposed to have the meeting with the CEO of the television studio. So he has to change his costume and shuttle between his new boss and his family.

Daniel's identity is revealed while enjoying with his family and having the meeting with his boss in the restaurant. Daniel confesses his desire to be with his kids in the family court. Miranda and the kids also learn of his success as the Mrs. Doubtfire in a new TV show for children named Aunt Euphegenia's House. Finally Danieal and Miranda have joint custody of the kids.
