Plot of Gone With the Wind
It is basically a love story set against the backdrop of the American Civil War. Gone With the Wind revolves mainly around the lives and aspirations of Scarlett O’Hara, Ashley Wilkes and Rhett Butler, the main characters of the movie. Scarlett, an attractive lady of Tara, longs for Ashley Wilkes and throughout the movie she tries to win his heart.
On the other hand, Rhett Butler tries his best to erase the feelings of Scarlett for Ashley. However, nothing changes except the death of Scarlett’s and Rhett’s daughter and un-born child as well as Ashley’s wife’s. It is only at the end of this movie that Scarlett realizes the actual meaning of love and happiness.
Scarlett is left with nothing, except despair and repentance.
Gone With the Wind shows how a person acquires everything in life but fails to realize its importance. Being happy in what one receives and realizing one’s actual happiness is quite important in one’s life.
