Ice Age is an academy award winning computer animated movie created by the Blue Sky Studios and released by 20th Century Fox in 2002. The movie was directed by Carlos Saldanha and Chris Wedge. The concept of Ice Age has been derived from a story by Michael J. Wilson. A sequel of the movie has been made named Ice Age: The Meltdown (2006) and there is a third part too named Ice Age 3 due in 2009.
The MPAA or the Motion Picture Association of America marked the Ice Age, PG, Parental guidance suggested. All the characters in the movie are prehistoric animals apart from some early humans. In the movie the animals are projected talking like humans and understanding each other. The characters are voiced by different famous actors. The famous characters in the movie are as below:

The sequel of the movie Ice Age, The Meltdown was released on March 31, 2006. This particular sequel focuses on the melting of a dam and on the impeding food. The next sequel Ice Age 3 is set to be released on July 1, 2009.

The movie also has several factual errors that appear very clearly like one of its characters the Diego is constantly referred to as a tiger; while actually he is a sabre-tooth cat, or Smilodon. The Smilodon is, however, often referred to as the "sabre-tooth tiger." The Dodos shown in the movie actually became extinct in the 1600s.
