Happy Feet is a computer-animated comedy-drama musical film which was produced in the year 2006. This Academy Award winning film was co written and directed by George Miller. Happy Feet was produced in a visual effects and animation studio based at Sydney named Animal Logic,. This film was released on November 2006. This is the first animated feature film which was produced by Kennedy Miller in association with Animal Logic. Though it was primarily an animated film, it also has live actions in certain scenes.
Some of the important characters of Happy Feet are Mumble, Gloria, Memphis, Norma Jean, Ramón & Lovelace, Noah the Elder, Néstor, Raul and Rinaldo. These characters are played by Elijah Wood, Brittany Murphy, Hugh Jackman, Nicole Kidman, Robin Williams, Hugo Weaving, Carlos Alazraqui, Lombardo Boyar and Jeff Garcia respectively.
The story of Happy Feet is very interesting. The story starts by stating that every penguin has to sing a unique song to attract his or her soulmate. Norma Jean and Memphis choose each other as their soulmate. The story proceeds and Norma lays an egg and leaves it in the care of Memphis. She goes out for fishing.
The story of Happy Feet takes a turn when Memphis drops the egg and exposes it to the freezing temperatures. Thus, the baby, Mumble turns out to have a horrible voice. However Mumble has a talent for tap dancing which none of the other Penguins have. After that a lot of adventure follows. Most importantly the disappearance of fishes in Antarctic waters are focused on. The story ends in a happy note when 5 men in orange suit visit this place and see the Penguins dancing.
The men also start dancing with them. Not only that, these men happens to film the entire episode and bring that footage back to human world. A debate takes place when the footage in released all around the world.
The government in every country ban fishing in the Antarctic region which in turn makes the Penguins very happy and they celebrate by dancing.
Happy Feet was released in both conventional theaters and in IMAX 2D format. The director of the film dedicated his work to Nick Enright, Michael Jonson, Robby McNeilly Green, and Steve Irwin. The animation in Happy Feet was based on motion capture technology. The dance sequences in the film have been originally done by human dancers. The tap-dancing for Mumble was done by Savion Glover who was also the co-choreographer for the dance sequences. For precision the dancers were also trained at a "Penguin School" to learn how to move like a penguin.

| Happy Feet was also inspired by earlier documentaries such as the BBC's Life in the Freezer. The film took around four years to make. The main reason for this was that the director required to build new infrastructure and tools. Miller also mentioned that there is a possibility of a sequel.
