confederates Kevin McClory and Jack Whittingham processed him shortly in 1961, after the publication of Thunder ball novel. The lawsuit was settled out of court. Since Broccoli and Saltzman feared a rival
McClory film, so they allowed him to retain some screen rights with relation to the novel's story, plot, and characters.
The production of the film was extremely complex. There were four different units. About one fourth of the film consisted of underwater scenes. The film achieved critical success and earned a total revenue of $141.2 million worldwide. The film also exceeded the earnings of previous three Bond films. The film also managed to break box office records on the first opening weekend in France and Italy. Among the many accolades that the movie managed to achieve, the mentionable ones are, academy award for best effects, special visual effects awarded to John Stears in 1966. Ken Adam, production designer was also nominated for a BAFTA award for this movie.

| The shooting of the film commenced on 16 February 1965. Several other film locations were considered for shooting some of the special scenes of the film. Most of the film was shot in the Bahamas.
