The Terminator trilogy is considered among the most scintillating of Action/Sci Fi movies ever made in Hollywood. After the first two films triggered vibes of enthusiasm across the international audience, Arnold Schwarzenegger once again returns to save the human existence from utter annihilation in Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines. This film was released in the United States of America in 2003, twelve years after Terminator 2: Judgment Day, hit the theaters. The crowd response was phenomenal to say the least. The level of hype surrounding the release of Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines was sensational. The film made a huge profit in the initial days after release.
Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines picks up the story right from where it had ended in the earlier film. The T1000 failed to terminate the human resistance before the Judgment Day. Skynet, the chief perpetrator, could not kill Sarah Connor before her son John Connor is born. It also failed to kill John. So another Terminator, this time a female embodiment, is sent back to future to possibly decimate the human resistance.
In Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, John Connor is shown as a grown up man, virtually escaping from his own identity. He grossly lives in Los Angeles in California with no permanent home.
Fearing that he might be hunted down by Skynet, John doesn't even carry with him any cellphone or credit card. Since John is on the move all the time, Skynet fails to locate him in their database. Nevertheless, it sends back the mighty T-X to eliminate the future warriors of human opposition. T-X is an advanced version of the T1000, with an armor of sophisticated weapons. It can also control most machines remotely without making any physical contact. These attributes render a radical deadliness to T-X.

Arnold Schwarzenegger, the Terminator, has once again been sent back in time to save John Connor and his future wife Katherine Brewster from T-X. A chain of events occurs, leading to the arrival of the police force as well as T-X, both looking for John, Katherine and the Terminator himself.
The course of the film now reverts back to the Cyber Research Systems laboratory, the very place which was demolished in Terminator 2: Judgment Day. Katherine's father General Robert Brewster is now in charge of this division. The experts at this division switch on the dangerous Skynet system to prevent a super virus from attacking the entire network of the division. Meanwhile the Terminator, John Connor and Katherine arrive at the laboratory just in time to stop the activation. But the T-1 series of Terminators start eliminating people randomly and create havoc in the division. General Brewster also dies, but not before giving John the address of the Skynet core. A dramatic event takes place as T-X overwhelms the Terminator and turns him a threat to John Connor. But he shuts himself down completely to avoid causing any harm to Connor.
As the three eventually reach Crystal Peak, the supposed base of Skynet, they find that it has got nothing to do with Skynet. They find it to their horror that Skynet softwares have long been activated and are running on thousands of systems worldwide. The Judgment Day becomes an inescapable reality.
