Hollywood action/thriller films have always been very popular among the avid movie watchers around the world. The generous use of special effects and technically sound acting make the Action/Sci Fi movies of Hollywood worth watching time and again. The theatrical elements are galore in such movies. Sword Fish is one of the highly rated action/thriller films made in recent times. Released in 2001, Swordfish stars Halle Berry, John Travolta, Hugh Jackman, Vinnie Jones and Don Cheadle. The star-studded line up is one of the main reasons behind the making of this film as a blockbuster. The film mounted up $147 million worldwide, gaining profit of nearly $45 million.
Plot of Sword Fish is so intriguing that it will keep you glued to the edge of your seat for the entire length of the film. Fed by occasional doses of humor, Sword Fish has received critical acclamation from many leading film magazines and journals.
The plot involves a number of eccentric characters such as Stanley Jobson, Gabriel Shear, Ginger Knowles and so on. The film begins in a dynamic mode as Stanley Jobson is being taken into custody for committing cyber crimes. Stanley can only be given parole if he doesn't touch a computer. Stanley's daughter Holly is with his former wife Melissa.
Ginger is another important character in Sword Fish. Portrayed by Halle Berry, this character plays a pivotal role in the progression of the film. Prior the arrest of Stanley, Ginger asks him to help her boss Gabriel by hacking an important system. Lured in by a lucrative deal of $100000, Stanley and Ginger come over to California to meet Gabriel Shear.
They meet at a night club is California where Gabriel forces Stanley at gunpoint to hack a high-security public system within a minute. Stanley manages to do that in time.
Stanley is given an assignment of creating a worm for $10 million. This worm is capable of stealing away huge bucks from a US slush fund which is illegally run by Senator Reisman. Gabriel discloses to Stanley that this slush fund named Black Cell was initially started by President Hoover, but it is currently under the aegis of Reisman. However, Reisman senses danger as FBI closes in on his malpractices. As he makes plan to wash his hands off such a fund, Gabriel refuses to cooperate with him. Seeing no other alternative, Reisman makes a plot to kill Gabriel, but his plans backfire miserably, leading to his own death.

| From this point onwards, Sword Fish is all about action and thrill at breathtaking speed and zeal. Cinematography takes over as a flashing medium of fight sequence organizer. The ending is very dramatic and holds in store ample possibilities for the making of a sequel.
