The 10th film in the series of James Bond was The Spy Who Loved Me. This movie was released in 3rd August, in the year 1977. This was the 3rd film that featured Roger Moore as James Bond and in this movie, he was M16 James Bond agent. The title of this movie has been adapted from the tenth novel of Ian Fleming in the James Bond series. This was the first James Bond film with original plot in screenplay. Ian Fleming only gave the permission to use the title of the novel and not its content. The director of The Spy Who Loved Me was Lewis Gilbert and it was jointly produced by William P. Cartlidge and Albert R. Broccoli.
Plot of The Spy Who Loved Me is as follow:
The Russians as well as the British are surprised a when submarine of their respective country suddenly disappears into the sea. They are left with only one link, a microfilm, with the details of the movement of British submarine. Somehow, with the help of this, they can track the submarine via it's 'wake'.
James Bond, a British agent along with Major Anya Amasova, a Russian agent known as 'Triple X', has been employed in this mission.
These agents have been ordered to work together and fight against their common enemy, Carl Stromberg. Carl Stromberg, a megalomaniac, is on a mission, to destroy the world and to create a new world under sea. He wishes to destroy the world with the help of nuclear missiles. Carl Stromberg, employs scientists, to assist him. Along with this plot, there is another sub plot. Major Anya Amasova believes that Bond has killed Anya's lover in another mission; so, Bond has to defend himself against this allegation. Towards the end of this movie, this misunderstanding gets cleared, Bond and Ana, become friends again.

In the credits of this film, it is stated that the forthcoming movie in the series would be 'For Your Eyes Only', but due to the success of 'Star Wars', 'Moonraker 'was the next released film in the James Bond series. The movie, The Spy Who Loved Me, was nominated in three various categories at the Academy Awards. It also won other prestigious awards as well.
