Mission Impossible II or M:I II is the second film in the series of Mission Impossible movies. This film has been directed by John Woo and was released in the year 2000. The movie has a very interesting plot structure and belongs to the action thriller category and spy films. As the title of the film suggest, it is a mission on which Ethan Hunt is working. With chases at a high speed, latest technology, deceit and spying the movie will keeps the suspense alive in the audience. There has been parallels drawn with Alfred Hitchcock's movie which almost had the same story construct.
Mission Impossible II: The mission:
The plot of the movie revolves around Ethan Hunt, an IMF agent who was deployed to destroy "Chimera", a disease based on genetics. On his mission hurdles crop up, a group of terrorists with global connections are also in search of this virus. The terrorists are headed by Sean Ambrose, who was an ex-officer in the IMF. He knows the traetment of this disease and to fulfill his evil intentions he needs the virus. Ethan takes the help of the ex-love interest of Sean called Nyah and employs her to keep a watch on him. In the meantime he falls in love with her but is disturbed by the fact that she has been entrusted some dangerous task.
The movie takes a turn when somehow Nyah gets infected by the disease inciting Ethan to find the cure immediately. Then in the final phase there is a motorbike chase and the movie ends with the nabbing down of Ambrose and his death.
Mission Impossible II: The actors and verdict:
Ethan is played by Tom Cruise. Dougray Scott played the role of Sean Ambrose and Nyah was played by Thandie Newton. This movie went on to be a hit. It was also believed that Mission Impossible II was the only movie to do well as far as the box office standards are concerned. Only in the US the film had gained almost 200 million$.
