Released in the year 1989, Licence to Kill is the 16th film in the James Bond series. It is the last movie where Timothy Dalton enacted the role of James Bond. Licence to Kill is in fact the first Bond movie and the title of this movie has not been adapted from a novel of Ian Fleming or even from a short story. Licence to Kill was not much successful as compared to the previous Bond movies.

Timothy Dalton again featured as James Bond, a British secret service agent. Carey Lowell played the role of Pam Bouvier. He portrayed an army pilot who was at the same time a CIA agent. Robert Davi enacted as Franz Sanchez. Franz Sanchez is a drug smuggler who is also involved into money laundering. Talisa Soto featured as the girlfriend of Franz Sanchez. She is known as Lupe Lamora. Anthony Zerbe portrayed the role of Milton Krest, who is Sanchez's partner in crime. Milton Krest is the one, who operated the Wavekrest Marine Research. Everett McGill played the role of Ed Killifer.
He is a DEA official who also worked for Franz Sanchez. Wayne Newton acted as Professor Joe Butcher, a TV revivalist.

Major portions pf this movie has been shot in Mexico. Licence to Kill showed a fictional country by the name of Republic of Isthmus. Actually the scenes were shot in Mexico. Most of the post production works were carried out at Pinewood Studios. In the United States, Licence to Kill was rated as PG-13.
