Lara Croft: Tomb Raider was produced in 2001 and it is adapted from a very well known series of video game called the Tomb Raider. In the movie Lara is played by Angelina Jo Lie and was much liked due to her portrayal as a strong and adventurous girl. This movie was also made into a sequel in the year 2003. The movie treads into old tombs, in mysterious locales dealing with robots with a lot of action. Lara Croft is the protagonist and the film did really well despite being titled on the female lead.

Based in an imaginary world of robots, old tombs, puzzles involved with the triangle the movie invokes mystery and thrill among the viewers. She is on a mission and has to accomplish that with a few partners who turn hostile. The secret chamber adds the amount of secrecy and mystery to the whole plot. The movie is totally action packed with the usual conflicts and murders. The end of the movie prepares it for a sequel when Lara is seen escaping the tomb with Hillary and Bryce who have again programmed Simon.

Lara Croft: Tomb Raider opened massively and earned a total around 13-14,000 $ from each of the 3000 movie theaters. This movie was praised for it's action performed on a woman.

Angelina was appreciated for the role which suited her tremendously. Critical review was not that much in favor due to its action sequences which was considered fast and not very clear.
