This movie titled Lara Croft: Tomb Raider: Cradle of Life was directed by Jan de Bont was released in 2003. this is a sequel to the first Lara Croft movie called Lara Croft: tomb Raider. The film was inspired from the video game which depicts Lara treading amazing intricate path mysterious manner. She finds hidden treasures meetimg up with challenges every step.

The storyline:
In this sequel, Angelina Jolie or Lara Croft is assigned by the MI6 agents to locate the Pandora's Box. There is threat spread regarding the box since scientist Jonathan Reiss is on the trail for the box with his evil designs. The box is said to contain a very big plague that has the capacity to destroy all mankind. The Cradle of Life contains the key to which can lead to the box. This Cradle is a kind of lighted spherical thing that is believed to be a map. It is already stolen by Reiss which leads Lara to unite with Terry to get it back. This adventure takes place in a number of continents stretching from Asia- Shanghai, Hong Kong and Africa. Going through a series of adventurous events they both separate while still on the quest.
Reuniting again towards the end when Terry frees Bryce and hillaryfrom Reiss. Reiss is killed but Terry wants to take away the box as a gift. This forces Lara to kill him and restore the box.
Controversy and appraisal:
Lara Croft: Tomb Raider: Cradle of Life was not a successful hit. It had crossed the budget of almost 100million out of which revived only $65 million. It was very disappointing in many respect which led few similar future ventures to be canceled. The critical response to the movie was not good either. China banned the film saying that the film had references to secret societies creating a wrong image of the country.
