Die Hard 2 is the second movie of the Die Hard series. The first one was released in the year 1988, which was highly praised by critics and by the mass. This movie was based on '58 Minutes', a popular novel by Walter Wager. The story of the novel goes that, in order to save people as well as his daugher, a cop has only 58 minutes in hand. The only diffrence bewteen the movie and the novel is that, it is the wife of the cop, who has been held as a hostage along with other people. It was produced by Lawrence Gordon,Charles Gordon and Joel Silver. Die Hard 2 was directed by Renny Harlin.
Plot of Die Hard 2
Like Die Hard 1, Die Hard 2 also features New York cop, John McClane. The movie starts with McClane waiting for his wife at Washington's Dulles Airport, when he comes to know about the plan of taking into hostage, the airport in order to free a drug baron, who is being taken to Amereica for for trial. In order to rescue their drug lord, the terrorists takes control over all the eletrical appliances necessary for the safe landing of the plane.

The runaway lighyts have been switched off, thus all the aircrafts are bound to be in air , but fuel is running out. But, he has to defeat the terrorists in order to successfully restore communications with the plane. McClane needs to do something and it has to be fast, to rescue his wife as well as the other passengers. McClane manages to rescue his wife as well as the other passengers, only after a hard fight. This is followed by a happy union of Mc Clane with his wife, Holly. The act of defeating the criminals through an explosion with the help of a cigarette lighter and the flames of fire, providing the necessary light required for the landing of the plane, makes this movie worth a watch.

Die Hard 2, released on 4th July, in the year 1990. It got nominated for the category of Best Foreign Film in Japanese Academy Awards. It also won the BMI Film Music Award for its outstanding music and background score.
The actors., who played their roles with ease are Bruce Willis (McClane), Franco Nero (General Ramon Esperenza), Bonnie Bedelia ( Holly McClane), John Amos ( Major Grant), Reginald VelJohnson ( Sergeant Al Powell) and William Sadler ( Colonel Stuart). The sequels to Die Hard 2 are 'Die Hard with a Vengeance' (1995) and 'Live Free or Die Hard' (2007).
