To handle the situation, Crowe makes an entry in the movie as Richie Roberts, an outcast cop who is well equipped to handle the dealings of the crime world. He could feel the pulse of the drug underworld easily. Both Lucas and Roberts share a thorough moral code, which makes them different from their own colleagues, making them distinct figures on opposite sides of the law. The destiny of these two men becomes entwined as they approach a conflict where only one manages to surface up.
