Spencer Tracy is one of the most popular Hollywood male actors of his generation. This actor was twice honored with the Academy award. Spencer Tracy was born to John Edward Tracy and Caroline Brown in Milwaukee, Wisconsin as their second child. Throughout his school life, Tracy had switched 6 schools and finally completed his education in Milwaukee's West Division High School. In the mean time he had also joined the Norfolk Navy Yard in Virginia to be a part of the World War I for America. He then enrolled his name in the Ripon where he played the role of the protagonist in a play called The Truth. That was when he decided to become an actor. He was awarded the honorary degree from the college in the year 1940.
He auditioned and got selected by the American Academy of Dramatic Arts New York. The first role that he got was that of a robot in the movie R.U.R. He appeared in 5 more plays in the 1920s. He was married to Louise Treadwell with two kids John and Louise. He then performed in stock for several years in Ohio, Michigan and Canada. In 1930 he played a role in The Last Mile - a Broadway play and it was a hit. Then he signed up for the film Up the River in 1930 for Fox Film Corporation. Then he moved to Hollywood, and acted in 25 films in the coming five years.
