Richard Samuel Attenborough, better known as Richard Attenborough, has been one of the most popular Hollywood male actors of his time. This Baron Attenborough was born on 29th August in the year 1923. This English actor’s skills are not only limited to acting, but he has also received equal acclaim for his remarkable works as a director, producer, and an entrepreneur as well. Some of his first few films were London Belongs to Me which was released in 1948 and Morning Departure that released in 1950. However, his film career skyrocketed only after the 1947 release Brighton Rock, where he acted as a psychopathic gangster. The actor was also a part of the Royal Air Force during the World War II. In the 1950’s the actor was spotted in prominent roles in successful comedies like Private's Progress, released in 1956 and I'm All Right Jack, released in 1959.

In the 1960s, the actor began experimenting with several roles and starred in successful movies like Seance on a Wet Afternoon and Guns at Batasi which won him the BAFTA Best Actor Award. He played a memorable role in the film The Great Escape.
He won consecutive Golden Globe Awards in the years 1967 and 1968. The films like Sand Pebbles and Doctor Dolittle won him two awards in the Best Supporting Actor category. In 1983 he won a Golden Globe Best Director Award for the movie Gandhi. He played the role of John Hammond in multi award winning film Jurassic Park in the year 1993.
