Harrison Ford is an Academy Award nominated American actor, well known for his performances in some of the most hit films. Born on 13th July 1942 in Chicago, Illinois, Harrison Ford ranked 1st as the Empire magazine's “The Top 100 Movie Stars of All Time” list. One of the most Popular Hollywood Male Actors, Harrison Ford through his tough, wisecracking performances has won the heart of millions of his fans.

In his early life, Harrison Ford while studying at the Ripon College in Wisconsin took up a drama class. In the year 1964, Ford shifted base to Los Angeles, California, where he signed a contract with Columbia Pictures for $150 a week in the studio's New Talent program, playing small roles in films. Harrison Ford even worked for the Universal Studios playing minor roles in many television series throughout the late 1960s and early 1970s including Gunsmoke, Iron side, The Virginian, The F.B.I., and so on.
Harrison Ford latter became a self-taught professional carpenter to better support his family, as he was not happy with his acting jobs. This male Hollywood actor got his major break when he went to build cabinets in the home of George Lucas, an American film director, producer, and screenwriter. Then he got a pivotal supporting role in Lucas’s film, the American Graffiti. In the year 1975, Harrison Ford’s work as a carpenter even landed him his biggest role to date, that of the part of Han Solo, in the famous movie the Star Wars by Steven Spielberg, eventually shooting him to fame.

Harrison Ford has also been the star of many high-grossing hits Hollywood blockbusters such as Air Force One and The Fugitive, Indiana Jones and so on. In spite of this, Harrison Ford has won very few Academy Awards in Hollywood.


In the year 2000, he received the Life Achievement Award from the American Film Institute and in 2003 the a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in front of the Kodak Theatre at 6801 Hollywood Blvd.
