In his early life, Harrison Ford while studying at the Ripon College in Wisconsin took up a drama class. In the year 1964, Ford shifted base to Los Angeles, California, where he signed a contract with Columbia Pictures for $150 a week in the studio's New Talent program, playing small roles in films. Harrison Ford even worked for the Universal Studios playing minor roles in many television series throughout the late 1960s and early 1970s including Gunsmoke, Iron side, The Virginian, The F.B.I., and so on.
Harrison Ford latter became a self-taught professional carpenter to better support his family, as he was not happy with his acting jobs. This male Hollywood actor got his major break when he went to build cabinets in the home of George Lucas, an American film director, producer, and screenwriter. In the year 1975, Harrison Ford’s work as a carpenter even landed him his biggest role to date, that of the part of Han Solo, in the famous movie the Star Wars by Steven Spielberg, eventually shooting him to fame.
