Alicia Christian Foster, popularly known as Jodie Foster, is one of the most noted female actors in Hollywood. Born on the 19th of November, 1962, this American actress has received Academy Award twice. Besides being a successful actor, Jodie Foster has also carried the mantle of a director as well as a producer. By receiving three BAFTA awards, two Golden Globe Awards and a Screen Actors Guild Award, she became one of the very few personalities who have received all the four significant acting awards associated with motion picture.

Jodie Foster first acted when she was merely three years old, but she achieved recognition by acting as an underage prostitute in the film Taxi Driver (1976). For this meaty role, she was honored by receiving a nomination at the Oscar in the category of Best Supporting Actress. In the year 1988, she received the Oscar for her role as a rape victim in the film The Accused. She received her second Academy Award for her role as a FBI trainee in the film The Silence of the Lambs (1991). She had acted with equal ease in various genres like crime, thrillers, comedy, romance, science fiction and children's films.
Early Life of Jodie Foster

Born in California's Los Angeles, her parents were Lucius Fisher Foster III and Evelyn 'Brandy' Ella. Jodie Foster's first real TV appearance that received credit was The Doris Day Show. In her adolescence, she spent a lot of time in France and can speak French fluently. She was a student of the Yale University and graduated in the year 1985. Even before attending college, she had appeared in almost fifty films and television shows. She was a very accomplished child actor, and as a child star appeared in films and shows like Mayberry R.F.D (1968), Gunsmoke (1969), Menace on the Mountain (1970), Disney movies like Napoleon and Samantha in 1972, One Little Indian in 1973, Freaky Friday in 1976, and Candleshoe in 1977.


In the 1977, she also starred in The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane, which became a cult film. At the age of 14, she received 2 BAFTA awards for her roles in Taxi Driver and Bugsy Malone. Films of Jodie Foster
