Jessica Lange is a two-time Academy Award wining actress who win the hearts of a million of fans in her performances in a number of Hollywood blockbuster movies. Born on April 20, 1949 Cloquet, Minnesota, Jessica Lange has won several awards in her entire career. Her very first movie King Kong in 1976 earned her Golden Globe award. Besides this, Jessica Lange has also won several other awards throughout her career. Her outstanding performances in several Hollywood movies have made this American actress one of the most popular Hollywood female actors. The Early Days
Jessica Lange, born in Cloquet in Minnesota, is the daughter of Albert John Lange, a teacher and salesman, and Dorothy Florence. She was the third of the four children of the Lange's. Jessica Lange was a student of art in the University of Minnesota. Later on, she moved to Paris to study mime. In 1973, she returned back to New York city and started taking lessons in acting. At the same time, she also started working as a waitress. She also worked as a fashion model for the Wilhelmina modeling agency during that time.
The Career
The film career of Jessica Lange started in 1976 when she acted in the remake of King Kong. Though this film was a blockbuster, still it got some unfavorable reviews from the critics and hence jeopardize her career. The scenario changed in 1981 when Jessica Lange acted in Bob Rafelson's remake of The Postman Always Rings Twice. The film earned a huge reputation for her. The Personal Life
In 1970, Jessica Lange got married with Paco Grande, a photographer. The marriage lasted for 11 years before they divorced in 1981. Since 1982, Jessica Lange lived with Sam Shepard, a playwrighter and actor. She has three children with Sam.
