Hillary Swank, one of the most popular Hollywood female actors, has been able to create a mark in the American film industry with her several blockbusters. Born on July 30, 1974, in Lincoln, Nebraska, Hillary Swank is a very talented Hollywood actress who has won Academy Award twice. Winner of several other awards like Screen Actors Guild Award, Golden Globe Award, Independent Spirit Award etc., Hillary Swank started her career with Buffy the Vampire Slayer in 1992 in a small role. Later on, she acted in several Hollywood films that became huge hit and she became very popular. Later on, she also became producer and produced a number of Hollywood films as well.
The Early Days
Born in Lincoln, Hillary Swank is the daughter Stephen Swank, an Air National Guard officer, and Judy, a dancer. Since the very early days, Hillary Swank was into acting. She made her first stage appearance in The Jungle Book, when she was just nine years old. During her school days, she was involved in the theater programs. She attended Sehome High School in Bellingham till she was sixteen. She was a multi-talented girl who also had interest in sports. She competed in various swimming competitions like the swimming events in Junior Olympics and the Washington State championships etc. Her mother played a major role to build her career. Hillary also joined South Pasadena High School and then left that in order to start professional acting. She started doing television programs like Evening Shade and Growing Pains.
The Career
The career path of Hillary Swank has been very promising. Starting her journey with a little role in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, she got the first major role in The Next Karate Kid in 1994. Later on, Hillary Swank acted in several Hollywood films which got very popular. Her performance in the film Boys Don't Cry where she acted as Brandon Teena, a transgender man, fetched her the Academy Award. She also won Academy Award once again for her performance in Million Dollar Baby, where she portrayed the role of a struggling waitress-turned boxer. Hillary Swank also received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2007.

Hillary Swank signed a three-year contract as spokesperson for Guerlain, a women's fragrance in 2006. She also started producing films. Freedom Writers, The Reaping, PS, I Love You etc. are some of her notable films.
