Helen Elizabeth Hunt is one of the most popular female actors in Hollywood. Born on the 15th of June, 1963, this American actress has won the Emmy award, the Golden Globe award and the the most prestigious Academy Award. Helen Hunt received great recognition for her role in Mad About You, a TV sitcom, and her Oscar winning role in the film As Good As It Gets.
Born in California's Culver City, Helen Hunt's parents were Gordon Hunt and Jane Elizabeth. Helen Hunt belongs to Christian as well as Jewish background. She married actor Hank Azaria in the year 1999, but the marriage lasted till 2000 only. From the year 2001, she got romantically linked with Matthew Carnahan, and Helen Hunt gave birth to her daughter, Makena Lei Gordon in the year 2004.

She started her acting career as a child artist during the 1970s, and at a very early stage, she appeared on The Mary Tyler Moore Show, as the daughter of Murray Slaughter. She started as a regular in the TV series called The Swiss Family Robinson. She also appeared in The Facts of Life, as a student who is addicted to marijuana. She was praised for her role in Desperate Lives and also for her fine performance in St. Elsewhere. Helen Hunt has been hugely successful as an actor in films like My Life and Times, Cast Away, and Twister, a blockbuster in the year 1996. Her career graph shows that she had equal prowess as a stage actor, and this she demonstrated through her role of Viola in William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. The play was shown at New York City's Lincoln Center.

In the year 2000, she returned to cinema and appeared in four films: Pay It Forward, Dr. T & the Women, Cast Away and What Women Want. In the year 2003, Broadway saw her returning Life x 3 by Yasmina Reza.
