Halle Maria Berry or popularly known as Halle Berry, is the popular American actress known for her acting as well as for modeling, and became extremely popular as the bond girl in 2002. A former fashion model and beauty queen, Halle Berry was born on August 14, 1966 in Cleveland, Ohio, United States. One of the most popular Hollywood female actors, Halle Berry won several awards for his performance in various films which include Emmy and Golden Globe awards, as well as an Academy Award for Best Actress in 2002 for an outstanding performance in her film Monster's Bell, and becoming the only African-American descent to have won the award for this category. The Early Days
Halle Berry, the daughter of Liverpool born Englishwoman Judith Ann and African-American Jerome Jesse Berry, was named after the Halle's Departmental Store, which was a landmark in her birthplace of Cleveland. She was estranged from her father at the age of 4 due to the divorce of her parents.
Halle Berry started going to Bedford High School, and later he moved on to Cuyahoga Community College. Since her early days, she started to participate in various beauty contests. Before becoming an actress, she won several beauty contests. In 1985, she won Teen All-American contest and next year, she again won Miss Ohio USA. She was also the first runner-up of Miss USA in 1986. She also got sixth place in Miss World 1986.

In 1980s, she went to Chicago to pursue her career in modeling as well as in acting. She started her career by working in th television series Chicago Force. She came to the limelight with a blockbuster Spike Lee's Jungle Fever where she portrayed the role of a drug addict named Vivian. She also acted in various films like Strictly Business (1991), Boomerang (1992), Flintstones, Losing Isaiah (1995), Race the Sun (1996) etc. In 1998, Halle Berry earned good reputation for her role in Bulworth. Monster's Bell in 2001 was a remarkable film for her which earned a number of awards. In 2002, she became internationally famed as the bond girl for the blockbuster Die Another Day.
The Personal Life
Halle Berry was married twice. The first one was with former baseball player David Justice in 1992 that ended in a divorce in 1996. She again married musician Eric Benet in 2001 and once again they separated in 2003. Currently, she is dating French-Canadian supermodel Gabriel Aubry since November 2005.
