Catherine Zeta Jones , born in Swansea, a maritime city on the southern coast of Wales, is the daughter of David Jones, a Welsh sweet factory owner, and Patricia, an Irish seamstress. David and Patricia moved to St. Andrews Drive in Mayals, a posh area in Swansea, after wining ?100,000 at bingo in the 1980s. She got admitted to Dumbarton House School in Swansea. She was an ambition to become successful actress in future. In order to achieve her ambition, Catherine Zeta Jones left her school before completing his course of study and moved on to attend The Arts Educational Schools in Chiswick to study musical theatre.

Catherine Zeta Jones started acting from the very early days. She joined a Catholic congregation's performing troupe when she was ten years old. She also made her professional debut in acting during this time in a lead role in a production at Swansea's Grand Theater Annie. She also acted in Bugsy Malone, 42nd Street etc.
