Brooke Christina Camille Shields, popularly known as Brooke Shields, is a popular American supermodel and actress. Born on May 31, 1965, Brooke Shields acted in several popular Hollywood movies, some of which became huge hits. Considered as one of the popular Hollywood female actors, Brooke Shields has also earned recognition as a supermodel and is regarded as one of the best in this business.
The Early Days
Born in New York City in United States, Brooke Shields showed interest in modeling since the very early days. She was into modeling since her childhood days. During the mid 1960s, Brooke Shields started doing assignments in modeling. Started with an assignment for Ivory Soap shot by Francesco Scavullo, she continued to do more modeling job thereafter to become a highly successful child model. At the age of 14 years, Brooke Shields appeared on the cover of the famous fashion publication Vogue magazine in the year 1980 and became the youngest fashion model to achieve the distinction. Later in the same year, Brooke Shields got into controversy by appearing in the controversial print and TV advertisement for Calvin Klein jeans.
By that time, Brooke Shields also started acting in the films. By the age of 16, Brooke Shields became a known name in the world of fashion and acting.
The Career
Brooke Shields started her acting career in 1974 when she portrayed the role of Quentin's daughter in After the Fall. But she got her first major role in Louis Malle's Pretty Baby in 1978 where she portrayed the role of a child living in a brothel. The film was very controversial as it includes several nude scenes and Brooke Shields was just 11 years old when she acted on it. Later, in the year 1978, Brooke Shields also acted in a less controversial film, Wanda Nevada. In the following years, Brooke Shields appeared several other Hollywood movies that became big hits. |

Brooke Shields took a break from the film career to pursue a degree in French literature from Princeton University from 1983 to 1987. Once she graduated from there, Shields started acting again.
