The Country Music Awards or the Country Music Association Awards are also popular as CMA Awards. The Country Music Awards or the CMAs are not identical with the ACM Awards, for which the Country Music Association members vote.
Facts on Country Music Awards -
In 1967 the first of the Country Music Awards were given out at an award ceremony, which was not broadcasted in the Municipal Auditorium of Nashville. The inaugural program was not televised and was hosted by Bobbie Gentry and Sonny James. The second annual Country Music Awards ceremony was held in 1968 October, which was broadcasted some weeks later by the National Broadcast Company. From 1969 onwards the awards were broadcasted live on television, normally during the month of October or November. These were broadcasted on the National Broadcast Company or NBC till 1972. Columbia Broadcasting System started broadcasting the Country Music Awards from 1972 to 2005.
Since November 2006 the annual Country Music Awards has been telecasted on the American Broadcast Company. The Grand Ole Opry radio program has aired the Country Music Awards for the maximum number of time. The Municipal Auditorium hosted the 1967 Country Music Awards whereas the 2005 award function was held as the Madison Square Garden of New York. The Country Music Awards features interesting performances by best country music stars and approaching new performers.

The 41st Annual Country Music Awards featured the recent stars and experts of the music industry and hosted different ranges of top artists. Kenny Chesney was announced the winner of the Entertainer of the Year Award for the third time. He won the first award for the category of the Musical Event of the Year in the pre-telecast ceremony.
