One of the best clubs in the Hollywood is the Hollywood Canteen. The Hollywood Canteen was flagged off in the year 1451. This place has a great history.
Located in the Cahuenga Boulevard in Hollywood, the Hollywood Canteen was opened for the servicemen. It served food for the servicemen and dance and entertainment was held for them. The majority of the guests at the Hollywood Canteen were U.S servicemen. However the Canteen was also visited by the servicemen from the allied countries. Even the women from all branches of service visited this place. One of the strict things about Hollywood Canteen was that that only those were permitted who came in service uniform. Everything offered in the Canteen was always free and never charged a penny. This is one of the best amongst the other bars and clubs in Hollywood.

Bette Davis and John Garfield started off this canteen with the aid of Jules Stein who was the President of Music Corporation of America. Davis served as the president of the Hollywood Canteen. The members of various organizations and entertainment industry donated money for this canteen. The entertainment industry volunteers operated and staffed the Hollywood Canteen. There is “A Hall of Honor” inside the Hollywood Canteen which contains photos of those entertainment volunteers who served in the military. Most of those actors, while on shore leave, came out to help the Canteen. In 1944, a film was produced on the name of Hollywood Canteen under the Warner Bros. banner.
