‘Songs in A Minor’ sold more than 235,000 in the first week of its release. It was released on the 25th of June in 2001. The total number of copies of this album was ten million. This made Alicia Keys popular in the United States and even other parts of the world. The first single of this album was “Fallin”, which remained the number one song on the American Billboard Hot 100. After the attack of 11th September, 2001, Alicia Keys gave her performance at the concert ‘America: A Tribute to Heroes’ with the song “Someday We’ll All Be Free”.
The second album released on the 2nd of December, 2003 by Alicia Keys, was ‘The Diary of Alicia Keys’. More than 618,000 copies of this album were sold in its first week and became the sixth best-selling album which was releases by a female singer. |
