Personal life of Michael Moore

Michael Moore was born in Flint of Michigan where he was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. As a youth, he had won various NRA tournaments apart from taking active part in drama and debate programs. In the year 1990, he married the well-known producer Kathleen Glynn and they lived at Traverse City. Though Michael Moore practiced catholic religion, he strongly opposed the catholic issues such as abortion, gay marriage and cell research.
Film career of Michael Moore

The career of Michael Moore started with the film “Roger & Me”. This controversial film released in the year 1989. The story line of the film is about the situation of Flint city when General Motors Company closed down its manufacturing factory to open new plants in Mexico.

The workers in the plants of Mexico were paid much less and the film criticizes this trend of the authorities. “Canadian Bacon” was the next film of Moore that was fictional and had a satirical tone. It depicted how the ego of a US president compelled him to persuade a war with Canada.


The “Big One” was released in the year 1997 which criticized the concept of mass layoffs in spite of huge corporate profit by organizations.

“Bowling for Columbine” was released in 2002 and a movie against violence. This film was nominated in the Cannes Film Festival and it received an award for the Best Foreign Film. Besides, it also received the Cesar Award.

“Fahrenheit 9/11” received immense critical acclamation and honor throughout the world. This film dealt with event when twin tower was destroyed by terrorists. In the movie, we get to see the administration of Bush and the alleged links of the family of US president George Bush and the terrorist, Osama Bin Laden.

Apart from these, Moore has also directed films like ‘Sicko’ and ‘Captain Mike’ across America. He has also tried his hand at directing television programs such as TV Nation, the Awful Truth, Micheal Moore Live, etc. Documentaries are also directed by Michela Moore that speaks of the modern times and its wrongs.
