Mark Kirkland

Mark Kirkland is one of those Hollywood directors who have acquired fame for directing some of the finest movies in Hollywood. He has directed many episodes of “The Simpson’s”. In 2005, Kirkland worked as director in as many as fifty eight episodes. He has also performed as director on shows. For the first time, he became the supervising director of the show in season. Douglas Kirkland, the father of Mark Kirkland, was a renowned photographer who worked with the Hollywood celebrities like John Lennon and Marilyn Monroe. Many other great Hollywood celebrities have also worked with him.

As a seventeen year old guy, Mark Kirkland attended the California Institute of the Arts. In this institute he was mentored by the great people like Jules Engel, Ollie Johnston, Moe Gollub, and Kenneth O'Connor. All these people supported Kirkland a lot. He acquired his degree on the Experimental Animation Program from the California Institute of the Arts. After the completion of his degree program, Mark Kirkland applied to Disney. But Disney did not accept him. But Gollub, one of his mentors at the California Institute of the Arts advised him to work for Hanna-Barbera.
Mark Kirkland got the Student Academy Award in the year 1976. He received this prestigious prize for animation together with Richard Jeffries for the graphic animation movie song. The song called “Fame” was sung by David Bowie.

The episodes that Kirkland directed in The Simpsons episodes include “Dancin' Homer”, “Principal Charming”, “Homer Defined“, “Homer Alone”, “Bart Gets Hit by a Car’, “The War of the Simpsons”, “Kamp Krusty”, “Last Exit to Springfield”, “Lisa the Beauty Queen”, “Marge on the Lam”, “Burns' Heir”, “Sideshow Bob Roberts“, “Homer vs. Patty & Selma”, “Lisa the Vegetarian”, “A Fish Called Selma”, “The Homer They Fall”, “The Old Man and the Lisa”, “Bart Carny”, “The Wizard of Evergreen Terrace”, “Brother's Little Helper“, “Pygmoelian”,


“The Computer Wore Menace Shoes”, “Sweets and Sour Marge”, “Helter Shelter”, “Three Gays of the Condo”, “All's Fair in Oven War” and “Bonfire of the Manatees”. Most of these films by Mark Kirkland are well known all over the world.

The Simpsons’s fifth episode is called “Dancin' Homer”. It was made on the 8th of November in 1990. The fourteenth is called “Principal Charming”. The fifth episode is called “Homer Defined”. This particular episode is marked out by the appearance of the mother of Milhouse. “Homer Alone” constitutes The Simpsons’s fifteenth episode.
