Bryan Singer was approached by 20th Century Fox to direct the movie X-Men. Though he turned down the offer initially, later retook it at the request of his friend as well as the partner of his production house Tom DeSanto and signed the offer. Discarding all the script written year after year, he completed the script in one single week to create the popular series of X-Men series. The movie brought him Saturn Award for Best Direction in the year 2000.
