Personal life of Ang Lee
Ang Lee was born in the year of 1954 in the city of Pingtung and graduated from the National Taiwan College of Art. Then he moved to the United States to acquire a degree of BFA that deals with theater and direction. He acquired a degree in film production from New York too. The first break in the career of Ang Lee came when he started as an assistant director for the film Joe's Bed-Stuy Barbershop: We Cut Heads (1983).

The next film of Ang Lee was “Hsi yen” that dealt around the story of a homosexual Chinese man and his conflict with cultural adaptation. In many films of Ang Lee, the focus has been on the conflict of tradition and modernity. He has also directed lighthearted comedies that are considered to reflect the end of tragic historical movies by the Taiwan directors.
The “Wedding Banquet” is the first commercial movie of Lee that brought international acclamation. He directed many popular Chinese movies that were loved by audience for the story, techniques and beautiful setting.
