Era of modern Hollywood:

It can be said that from 1947 different types of commercial aspects began to develop in Hollywood- this year mark the first step towards modern Hollywood. In 1947 a television station was established in Hollywood. In the same year television production was started besides the regular movie production. In 1950s different recording studios of music started to develop in Hollywood. All these developing features mark the beginning of modern Hollywood.

CBS began their production in Hollywood after establishing their CBS Television City in Hollywood in 1952. Along with varieties of production houses several constructions were also made in Hollywood in 1950s. Notable constructions like Hollywood Freeway, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Capitol Records, Hollywood Boulevard Commercial and Entertainment District and Kodak Theatre mark the progressive aspects of modern Hollywood.
The Kodak Theatre:

The Kodak Theatre is one of the significant assets of Hollywood that contributed in making Hollywood a part of the modern age. It was opened in 2001. It is the place where the most prestigious award ceremony of film and entertainment industry, Oscars is hosted.

Hollywood Walk of Fame

The Hollywood Walk of Fame features the names of several fictional characters as well as celebrities, whom Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has honored. You will find names of people who have contributed to the entertainment industry.


Created in 1958 the Hollywood Walk of Fame proves that Hollywood was moving a step ahead in to the realm of modernity.

Capitol Records:

The building of Capitol Records, one of the important constructions, further developed the infrastructure of modern Hollywood. It was built in 1956 and this is the site where many famous artists had recorded their songs. Artists like Radiohead, Coldplay, Duran Duran, Pink Floyd, Peggy Lee, Nat King Cole and Tina Turner had worked in the Capitol Records in Hollywood.
